Greenwich Hallow
As the story goes........Or so I'm told,
A few beers and some sailors on catamarans, Just like they did in 1953.
Supplies and visitors still bristle through the busy turnstiles. Underground behemoths deliver droves of the the heart and soul of the city, her people. The night started out @FineAndRare NYC. Daniel Foose (bass), Alex Smith (piano), Steve Kortyka (sax), Jesse Simpson (drums) and Brian Newman (trumpet) leading this rat pack right outta Vegas baby!! Dinner and one hell of a show! Well, like I said that was the start of the evening. A few drinks and a jazz set that could have not been better on that freezing, rainy night.
Like the yellow blur that delivered us to the next stop, it felt like we were standing still in the motion picture set we happened to wonder across. Next thing you know, Leah and I are dancing in the rain on the empty streets of New York. Soak, thrilled and never more alive or inspired.
Look up... the creators that silently stood the test of time and now watch over the city. Each building a cathedral to hard work and craftsmanship of the masons and iron workers alike. The lights from above illuminate the clouds on this cool night. Eventually, soaked, we made it back to our room and settled on to plan the next night. Maybe we should go to see the philharmonic. A journey back to the same concert hall ~ David Geffen ~ Leah played when she was only 15 years old.
Hello, old friend......
